have a fantastic first weekend!

{via 1924}

Is anyone else having difficulty recovering from the holidays? It's been a week and I'm still exhausted. I suppose it doesn't help that this first week of the year has been less than stellar, but I'm hoping for a redo next week. I have some exciting things going on, save the dates, caterer meetings, flowers, and more planning, so hopefully it will be a successful week. However, this weekend is all about recovery, cleaning, and cooking. I hope yours is relaxing!

Around the 2012 internet:
1. A trench is in no matter what year it is.
2. Brilliant business card idea.
3. Kate Miss can sing.

steven alan resort 2012

Absolutely swooning over these looks from Steven Alan's 2012 resort collection. I love the neutral colors and casual look, how comfortable do these maxi dresses look?

blog alert {salted & styled}

I'm a sucker for food photography. Well, let's face it, I'm a sucker for food in general. You make a blog that features recipes and well photographed food art, and I'm there. Libbie Summers is an accomplished food stylist and author of the Whole Hog Cookbook, which happens to be one of my favorite cookbook purchases of 2011, which for our house, is saying an awful lot. She has teamed up with food photographer Chia Chong to create Salted & Styled, a blog which choses one food muse a week. Along with a collection of talented Savannah women, they use the food to inspire recipes, photography, fashion, and home styling. It's such a wonderful idea, and always exciting to see collaborations like this coming out of Savannah.

up in the air somewhere

Good morning! I hope everyone had a wonderful and safe New Year's. I apologize for my long hiatus, sometimes it takes a while to get out of vacation mode.

Kate Pruitt, a contributor to design*sponge as well as My Life Scoop, posted her favorite etsy shops today and in going through them I found what I believe to be my new favorite. Up in the Air Somewhere is full of beautiful ceramics and some absolutely swoon worthy chevron trays. I can put etsy stuff on the registry right?

have a great new year's weekend!

How adorable is this?

2011 has been a great, but seriously trying year. The highs have been super wonderful, and the lows have been borderline terrible, but I'm going to try to focus on the good. We went on some amazing vacations, met some wonderful people, and got engaged! So I guess it was a pretty successful year.

2012 is going to be extremely stressful, but I think it will also be pretty amazing. Lots of new experiences and exciting events to look forward to!

I hope you're New Year's celebration is lovely! See you next year!

happy day after christmas!

I hope everyone had an amazing holiday! I enjoyed a full day of sitting in front of the fire watching sports related television and sipping on wine, that's really what the holidays are about right?

We're heading down to the city today to visit my grandparents and I wanted to leave you with something to make you smile. I may be jumping on the Marcel the Shell boat a little late, but I'm just happy to have discovered it at all. I love this little guy.

merry merry merry christmas.

I'm in New York, kind of freezing, about to watch the big Giants vs. Jets game, all is right with the world, except that there's no snow. I kind of wish it looked a little more like the photo above, complete with the reindeer.

I hope you all have a fantastic holiday!
